Chris Hector ran Hectors Electrics, a very, very well regarded electrical services business in Derby. He knew that in order to scale and get off of the tools - he would need to specialise into renewables. With a huge log of work behind him, he initially grew the business through his existing customer base and referrals. He has done some sort of electrical work for near enough every house in Derby - but even that wasn't quite enough to satiate his growth goals.
Results
Turning away electrical work and being booked up with surveyors for weeks.
A common problem with clients who come to us with limited existing demand is that we have the habit of blowing the doors off. Chris got to the point in December where he had to actually turn the ads off for some time, just to ensure that he could get back to everyone and give the level of service he was proud of.
