Do you need to make a decision on the discovery call? Absolutely not. You do not need to make a decision on the day of the discovery call. It is, of course, beneficial if all decision makers are present just because, then you both have. Or all three of you. All four of you. All ten of you have all of the same context.
And you can then go away and discuss it internally with that context, rather than someone trying to relay it, etc. but most importantly, you do not need to make a decision on the day. In fact, I would encourage you or implore you to go to speak to other competition, other potential strategies or channels and make sure that when you do decide to go ahead with us, you are very confident in your choice and just super excited as opposed to feeling like you were pressured into it or that you know you.
It just wasn't the best fit in the first place and you've gone ahead of head with it anyway. On the discovery call will then schedule a proposal review call, and that's where we will make that decision. You know, I'll answer any questions that you have in the period between the discovery call and the proposal review call, and we'll decide whether it's a good fit to actually go ahead.
This two step approach, just make sure that you've got all the information and all the time to make a well-considered, educated decision.
