Why speed decides whether Meta solar leads close or disappear

This video is about speed.

Not generic speed, but the speed at which your solar business reacts to a lead, and why that matters very differently depending on where that lead came from.

Organic leads can tolerate time.
Meta leads cannot.

In this breakdown, i explain why businesses with strong organic sales processes often struggle on Meta, how hundreds of thousands of pounds can be lost within days, and what level of operational speed is actually required if you want Meta ads to work at scale.

If you are considering Meta ads, or already running them, this is required context.

For context, this video was originally recorded on 5 December 2024, views and strategies may have changed since.

Video transcript

Let’s talk about speed — specifically, the speed at which your solar company can react to an inquiry, and why that matters differently depending on the source the lead came from.

I’ve got some stats here that I think are going to blow some solar business owners away. People are going to be absolutely frazzled at how this is possible — and that this is the state of the market right now.

Let’s start with organic.

A lead comes in from organic. Maybe it comes in on a Friday. You probably don’t have team members working Saturday and Sunday. Monday comes around and there’s an influx of things to do. So maybe they don’t get a call until day five, on the Wednesday, to book a survey.

Then maybe you book the survey for another week and a half later, because they’re a bit far away and you want to group surveys in that area.

By now you’re around week two.

Then maybe it takes another week to get a quote out because there’s been holiday in the team. And it’s coming up to Christmas, so maybe it’s week four by the time they get a follow-up — or you do a little video for them or something.

Then finally, by week five, hooray — they say:

“Yep, I’m going to go ahead and get my system installed, because I found you from organic. I searched you on Google. It was a referral. One of my neighbours had a system done by you.”

Great — you closed the deal by week five.

Now let me show you something that’s going to scare the living hell out of you:

By this point, that lead has already gone with someone else if you’re on Meta.

By the time you’ve even phoned them, they’re gone.

Meta is a game of speed. It really is.

Especially with the ads we’re running.

A lot of people come to us and say, “I want high intent leads. I want leads that are going to close.” And then they complain when the lead has already gone with someone else within two days of entering their information.

Make it make sense.

If you’re going to absolutely kill it on Meta ads — like this client here, who I’ll talk about in a second, who has made £160,000 in just over two weeks — then you need to operate at an efficiency that is borderline insane.

And it might seem insane, but when you think about the resources and team members required to hit that level of efficiency, it really isn’t that much. There are people doing it with one person.

I’m hitting this hard because we’ve had businesses in the past that we thought were going to smash it out of the park — strong organic presence, lots of installs — and they worked with us and it just didn’t work.

And we’re thinking: why? Why aren’t they closing?

It was because every single lead they’d had prior — from organic sources, YouTube, their website, referrals, etc. — had been given a sales process that took six weeks.

Then they do Meta ads and wonder why everyone has already been closed by the time they’ve even gone out to survey.

It baffles them.

Now, whenever we take on a business and we get hints of this, we go into a really in-depth “shake you by the shoulders” wake-up moment:

Look — you run the risk of everything going right with the campaign and it still not yielding you a financial return because you do not have the operating efficiency and speed to make this work.

The most common objection is:

“Our process takes a long time because we’re bespoke.”

But I’m sorry to say, there are people with a bespoke process still hitting this marker:

  • They go out to survey within a week

  • They quote the same day as the survey (or next day at worst)

  • They follow up within a day after that

  • They close that customer by the time you’ve even spoken to them

This campaign here is a client that has smashed it out of the park.

They’ve been selling Meta ads leads for years. They’d done some ads themselves, they’d had an agency before, and they came to us because they wanted to put it on steroids — jokes aside.

They’ve closed 14 deals within just over two weeks.

They’ve closed £160,000 of business within two weeks — basically almost three weeks of the campaigns going live.

How on earth, with that organic sales cycle where you close by week five, would they have closed anyone by now?

They wouldn’t have.

So how are they doing it?

And here’s the thing that should really alarm you:

Look at this: “Lost to competitor.”

The absolute earliest that any of these leads came in was roughly three weeks ago. Most would have been within the last two weeks, or even the last week.

And £109,000 worth of business has already gone with someone else.

And that’s just the people who have said that.

Imagine how many people have just blocked you or stopped responding because they already went with someone else. There’s probably £200,000 of business there.

Even though this client is doing everything right and they’ve managed to win the £160,000, they know they’ve got to be even faster and more efficient — because they essentially lost £109,000 that, with slightly more speed or competitiveness, they might have won.

Those people did go ahead and install solar and battery — so why didn’t they install with them?

For a lot of people, the answer is this:

Speed.

It really is.

To get the results you want from a campaign with us — if you want to quote £500k of business in three weeks, half a million — and within six weeks have a million pounds of opportunities…

Then you have to operate with this kind of speed. There’s no two ways about it.

A major blocker is when people think:

“Because I close organic inquiries, I can treat Meta inquiries with the same relaxed pace and still win business.”

And it just isn’t the case.

Sure, you’ll still win some. You’ll have people who love your video, who can afford to go through a six-week cycle.

But wouldn’t you rather also get the ones that are closing quickly?

If you’re a business that hasn’t done Meta ads before, this isn’t to scare you off — it’s to say you should probably do it with someone who will tell you straight and be honest:

“Nah, not going to work.”

Or:

“It will work, but you won’t get the extreme results that some clients are getting.”

Some of the very few companies that have stopped working with us — that churned — this was the problem. One of the big problems.

And we wish we’d been harsher sooner and seen it coming better.

But the more companies we work with, the more exposure we get, the more confident we are to say what I’m saying in this video:

Nah — it’s not going to work if you won’t listen to the advice.

Or it’ll work, but you won’t get the extreme results.

We’re also running a mastermind event on the 28th of November 2025, which is going to talk all about stuff like this — and exactly how you can take your solar business to the next level with the best sales and marketing tactics in the UK industry.

If you’re interested, you should probably become a client and book a call with us to get your campaign started in January 2026 — because we’re operating a waitlist right now and we can’t launch any more campaigns before the new year.

Thanks very much for your time. Hopefully that was useful and potentially broke or reframed some beliefs you had.
